Devdutt Pattanaik

Devdutt Pattanaik is a well-known Indian story writer, illustrator, author, columnist profoundly known for writing Mythological tales, short stories, and parables, etc. Devdutt Pattanaik was born on the 11th of December in the year 1970. David grew up in Mumbai and presently lives there too. He was born to Prafulla Kumar Pattanaik and Sabitri Kumar Pattanaik. David did his schooling at Our Lady of Perpetual Succour High School in Mumbai. David did his graduation in Medicine (MBBS) at the Grant Medical College in Mumbai. David also completed a Diploma in Comparative Mythology from Mumbai University.

It was during his School time that he got interested and curious about Mythological tales and writing and got involved in this. While practicing medicine, he wrote articles and studied mythology during his free time, and eventually, he took up this desire as his profession/ career. David's first published book was Shiva: An introduction, in the year 1997. David has immense knowledge regarding mythology, and he became a story consultant for the famous television series Devo Ke Dev Mahadev, which got aired years back. He has also played a pivotal role in assisting the Mythological based serials like Siya Ke Ram and Mahabharat. David's other works are The Goddess in India: The Five Faces of the Eternal Feminine, Devi, The Mother-Goddess: An Introduction, Vishnu: An Introduction, The Man Who Was A Woman and Other Queer Tales from Hindu Lore, Indian Mythology: Tales, Symbols, and Rituals from the Heart of the Subcontinent, “Lakshmi: The Goddess of Wealth and Fortune: An Introduction,” and many more.

David is a perfect blend of science and mythology and has proved himself in all respect. He also hosts a show named Devdutt Pattanaik Show on Radio Mirchi. David, in the year 2009, was the speaker at the TED conference. David's passion has made him create milestones. He got ranked in the category of the bestselling Indian Authors in the year 2014. In the year 2016, his name got listed amongst the top hundred celebrities in India. David is active on Twitter and often expressed his views on different social issues. Whenever he faces trolls, he takes them positively. His in-depth knowledge is quite evident in his works.
