Kumar Nagendra is a versatile Telugu director, who is known for his superhit commercial films. He also has multiple talents such as acting and screenplay writing. Kumar stepped into the shoes of a Director, in the year 2013, with the movie Gundello Godari. The cast of the movie consists of actors Aadhi, Sundeep Kishan and actresses Taapsee and Lakshmi Manchu in the lead roles. The flick was a bilingual and was simultaneously dubbed and released in Tamil. The film was critically acclaimed in Tollywood and was nominated the best film award at the International Indian Film Festival, held in Africa. A weekend after the movie was released; twenty-five extra screens were added in various theaters, because of the huge success of the film.

Kumar then went on to direct a light-hearted movie titled Joru, in the year 2014 with Sundeep Kishen in the lead. Kumar has told in an interview that after his first movie, the feedback he had got was to include comedy in his next films. He has followed that advice and has done a complete comical entertainer Joru. Sundeep is accompanied by three heroines in this movie, in which Kumar says there are no dirty jokes.

Kumar after researching for two years is currently directing the flick Tuntari, which is scheduled to be released in 2016. He is also writing the screenplay for this movie, which is said to be remade from the Tamil movie Maan Karate. The story of this movie is penned by the veteran director A. R. Murugadoss. The story is a blend of mythology and modern day reality. The movie has Nara Rohith and Latha Hegde playing the lead roles.
