Karakulam Chandran is a drama in Malayalam, a television series, a film actor, and a theatre producer from Kerala, India. He was born on 19 April 1950. When he was four years old, he started his career as a child actor in a play in the library. After joining as a student at Prof.G. Sankara in Pillai's drama school, He became involved in professional dramatic art in 1968. Theerthadanam by Vayala Vasudevan Pillai became his first professional play. He excelled in the field of theater under Thoppil Bhasi for more than ten years. He worked for KPAC from Congress party candidates for the Ajanta theater company of Kollam in 1985.
He has produced 118 plays and has played in more than fifty plays. He has also appeared in 88 television dramas and five Malayalam films. His most recent piece was Akasha Vilakku from Ajantha. He has won over eighty State Awards, including the State Award for Best Theatre Director (1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 years). For Best Drama Director, he received Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Academy Award in 2008. In 2015, he won the State Government's special jury award for a best serial actor and the Ramu Kariat Award for outstanding contribution (2008).
