S G Raman

S G Raman is a renowned cinematographer who lives in Kerala. He works for the South film industry. Raman loves to travel but what makes him outstanding is his love for films and how the camera captures the essence of the scenes. He also reads books in his free time, to highlight that he is a follower of Mahatma Gandhi and works on his principles. He completed his BSC in chemistry from the University of Kerala. He is an alumnus of FTII (Film and Television Institute of India, Pune) and completed the Diploma of Cinema and Motion Picture Photography from FTII. He won two awards for Best-Cameraman in 2003 and 2005 by the Kerala Film Critics Association for the telefilms “Arikil Oraal Kude” produced by Rajesh R Pillai and “Tree of Life”, produced by Leo Thaddeus Leo Thaddeus is a director and screenplay writer. >> Read More... respectively. He has completed five feature films in Malayalam and is ready to work for similar projects to show off his cinematography skills. Raman is also skilled in making documentaries. His documentary based on the legendary painter K.C.S Panicker, produced by C-DIT for Kerala State Public Relations Department won the best documentary film award. He is well-versed in making spot advertisements. Some his notable works are Iruvattam Manavatti (2005), Payyans (2011) and Father’s Day (2012). He is a senior faculty in the Department of Cinematography at Whistling Woods International.
