Sujith Vasudev is one of the most renowned names in the field of cinematography and is known for his works in Malayalam and Tamil movies such as City of God, Molly Aunty Rocks, Papanasam, Amar Akbar Anthony, among many others. Sujith Vasudev was born in Thiruvananthapuram in Kerala and is an ardent fan of the works of legends such as M. T. Vasudev Nair, Cherukadu, and Valsala. Vasudev has also publicly stated his desire to work with A. R. Rahman, and is a staunch follower of artists such as Zakir Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, and M. S. Subbulakshmi. Vasudev, in an interview, said that he was inspired by movies such as Shakespeare in Love, The Cow, The Duelist, and “Amelie,” among many others. Vasudev started his career in cinema as a cinematographer in 2009 with the Sunil Madhav-directed “Nayanam,” followed by Sanjeevan’s “Chekavar.” But it was in 2010 that Vasudev got noticed for his works in the Prithviraj and Indrajith starrer “City of God.”

The film was written by Babu Janardhanan, and also featured Swetha Menon, Rima Kallingal, and Rajeev Pillai, among many others. In 2012, Vasudev was the cinematographer for the Aneesh Anwar-directed “Mullamottum Munthiricharum,” which also saw actors such as Thilakan, Tini Tom, and Kalasala Babu, among many others. In the same year, Vasudev was the man behind the camera for Ranjith Shankar’s “Molly Aunty Rocks,” which saw Revathy as the protagonist. 2013 saw Vasudev as the cinematographer for the Jayasurya starrer “Punyaalan Agarbathis,” Jeethu Joseph’s “Memories” and the Antony Perumbavoor-directed “ Drishyam.” Vasudev was the recipient of critical acclamation for his work in “Drishyam.” In the year 2014, Vasudev worked on projects such as “7th Day” and “ Anarkali,” both of which saw Prithviraj as the protagonist. 2015 saw Vasudev as the cinematographer of the Nadirsha directed “ Amar Akbar Antony.” Vasudev has also written and directed “James & Alice,” which is slated to release in 2010
