Vaidy S

Vaidy S is also known as Vaidy Somasundaram and Vaidy S Pillai. He is an Indian cinematographer who predominantly works in the Kannada, Tamil, and Malayalam film and television industries. Vaidy was born in Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his education at the M.G.R Government Film and Television Training Institute (formerly known as the Adyar Film Institute) in Chennai and got a gold medal in film technology and cinematography. After which, he marked his debut as a cinematographer with a Malayalam movie Kanne Madanguka, directed by Albert Antoni in 2005. Then, he has also worked with the well-known Malayalam director A. K. Lohithadas in the Tamil film Kasthuri Maan.

In 2006, he worked with a Tamil film director Boopathy Pandian Boopathy Pandian is the assistant of Sundar.C. He received SIIMA Award for Best Kannada Cinematographer at the 3rd South Indian International Movie Awards for Googly. For the film, he received SIIMA Award for Best Kannada Cinematographer at the 4th South Indian International Movie Awards.

He also won the Kerala state Best Cinematographer award for the Malayalam short film “Seethakattu.” His remarkable works with the director P. C. Shekar include Romeo (2012) and Raaga (2017). Vaidy S has done many television serials and short films in Tamil and Malayalam.
