C Radhakrishnan

C Radhakrishnan is an author and a film director known for his work in Mollywood. He was born on 15th February 1939 in Tirur. He got his Bachelor’s degree in Physics from Zamorin’s College, Calicut and his Masters in Applied Physics from Government Victoria College, Palakad. He also worked for the government as the Scientific Assistant at the Astrophysical Observatory in Kodaikanal. He has written extensively both in English and Malayalam. He has published both scientific and creative fiction.

He won the Kerala Sahitya Academy Award in 1962. He has also won the Ezhuthachan Award and the Bharatiya Gnanapith’s Murtidevi Award for his contribution to Indian Languages in the field of creative writing. His cinematic work has received a lot of attention from the International community. He has also written scripts which are based on his literary work. He has been elected to the Writer’s Cooperative of Kerala twice.

He has acted as the head of the board of directors of the Kerala State Film Development Corporation. Between 1978 and 1993, he directed four movies - Agni, Pushyaraagam, Kanalaattam ,and Ottayadipathakal. Between 1970 and 1993, he wrote the story for four movies - Priya, Pin Nilavu, Avidathepole Ivideyum ,and Bhagyavan.
