Anil is a well-known director from the Malayalam film industry. He was born on 3 May 1963 in Alappuzha, Kerala. His father is Purushothaman Nair, and his mother is Lakshmikutty Amma. In 1988, he got married to Kalpana, a national award-winning actress. Anil started his journey as a director in 1989 with the movie Anantha Vruthantham. His notable movies are Anchil Oral Arjunan (2007), Lokanathan IAS (2005), Manthrikan (2012), Hide N Seek (2012), Climax (2013), Maiya (2017) and many more. Anil and Babu both directed several movies together from 1992 to 2004. Some of their directed duo movies are Welcome to Kodaikanal (1992), Sakshal Sreeman Chathunni (1993), Kudumba Vishesham (1994), Kaliyoonjal (1997), Pattabhishekam (1999), Mayilpeelikkavu (1998), Uthaman (2001), Pakalppooram (2002), Valkannadi (2003), Kusruthi (2004), Parayam (2004) and many more.
