Babu Thiruvalla is an Indian director, film producer, and scriptwriter who predominantly works in Malayalam films. The films produced by him, most of them have won State awards or National Awards in some category. His first movie ‘Thaniyae’ has won more than 20 Awards including, State Award and Indian Panorama. It also includes Padmarajan Award for best film, ALA Award, Ujala-Asianet film award for best script-writer (shared with Nedumudi Venu).
The movie ‘Thanichalla Njan’ (2012) directed by him has won the National Film Award for the best feature film on national integration. He has been the part of the jury for selecting Indian movie for the Oscar award 2016. His directional venture in the film industry with Crossroad (2017) has been amazing. He has been the jury member of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) 2019. He has also produced some movies like Amaram (1991), Arabia (1995), Kannaki (2001), and many more.
