Maneesha K S

Maneesha Kandan Subramaniam is an Indian actress, radio jockey, singer, and voice-over artist. She was born on October 12, 1978, in Perambra, Thrissur, Kerala, to Kandan Subramaniam and C.P.S. Prakashini. She has two brothers, Aidith K Subramaniam and Vidyut K Subramaniam, and a sister, Nadasha K Subramaniam. Maneesha KS studied at St. Augustine’s Higher Secondary School in Muvattupuzha, Kerala, followed by the Vimala College, Thrissur, and Marthoma College for Women, Perumbavoor, in 1990. She was a performer of Kadhaprasangam, a lyrical storytelling performance, along with mime and other arts.

Maneesha KS was also the founding member of AsiaNet Rdio, a Malayali radio network based in Dubai. She returned to India after eleven years and began working with All India Radio, Thrissur. She also studied music from Ananthapadmanabhan and Araikal Nandakumar and began singing professionally in Dubai. Some of her songs include Mannase, Karunayil, Neethiyilsooryan, Poovitty Poojikkan, and Mananmarinjoru Makan. Manisha KS marked her acting debut with the film Thanmathra, written and directed by Blessy and based on the short story Orma by Padmarajan.

Maneesha KS’ most memorable role was in the Malayalam sitcom Thatteem Mutteem which began in 2012. The show was broadcast on Mazhavil Manorama and won the Kerala State Television Award for best comedy in 2014 and 2016.

Maneesha KS played the role of Vasavadattha. In March 2023, she joined Malayalam Bigg Boss Season 5 as a contestant though she got evicted. She has won awards both for her music and acting. In 1997, she won the Kerala Sangeetha Nataka Akademi Award in the best female singer category. In 2021, she won the 24 Frame Gold Award for her performance in Thatteem Mutteem and the Kerala Kesari Award for best playback singer. Maneesha KS was married to Sheen George, with whom she has a son Nithin Sheen George and a daughter Neerada Sheen George.
