He took up the political genre in almost all of his films. He worked closely with Vijayakanth and R.K. Selvamani. His association is evident from the repeated cast of Vijayakanth in his movies. Liaquat Ali Khan also wrote dialogues for movies of Kollywood. In 2006, he emphasized his alliance with the party All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam.

In his active years, he was appointed as the Electoral officer to conduct elections for small screen actors- the association for which he conducted the polls was Small Screen Actors Association. He directed seven films in Tamil. Pattuku Oru Thalaivan in 1989, Erikarai Poongatrey in 1990, Ezhai Jaathi in 1993, in the same year, Kattalai, Enga Muthalaali, Rani Maharani in 1995, and finally Suyamavaram in 1999. The last film has 14 directors, and he is one of them.

The film set Guinness World Record for having shot in 23 hours 58 minutes only. Suyamavaram is a multi-starrer. Giridharilal Nagpal produced the movie.
