Jathin Shankar Raj is a versatile filmmaker of Indian origin. He works as a director, cinematographer, and producer in the Tamil film industry. Born on July 10th, 1984 in Thrissur, Kerala, India, Jathin was raised in Saudi Arabia where he was exposed to theater, music, and dance by his parents. His passion for the film world started at age 10 when he saw a movie on the big screen for the first time in India. Jathin studied at the International Indian School in Riyadh and graduated from VIT Vellore with a degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering. He studied Film Direction at L.V. Prasad Film and TV Academy.

being his debut feature film as a director. He released his first short film in 2005 while in college and received positive feedback. 2008, he released another short film - A Shot Film, which was shot entirely on the film reel. He worked as a creative director at Candle Light Productions from 2008 to 2020.
