Shakina Shawn was honoured to be at the Museum Theatre, Chennai, on 24th April 2012. She was the singer at ‘Opera Night along with conductor Augustine Paul. There, she got a chance to sing Carnatic classical or R&B ghazal or film songs to give a taste of English, French, German and Italian songs to the people of Chennai, her hometown. Shakina Shawn was presented as an opera singer for the first time in her hometown. Till now, only three people have had the honour of being a presenter on the stage of Opera Night In Chennai, and Shakina Shawn is one of the first Indians in 110 years of history. Besides this, she has sung songs for the films Etho Seithai Ennai (2012) and Nisabdham (2017).
