Singer Ganga

Ganga is a famous South Indian playback singer. She was born in Kozhikode, Kerala to a professor's family. From her childhood, she learned Carnatic Music. The encouragement of her guru, Sri Haripad K.P.N. Pillai, and Mrs. Lakshmi, her Music Teacher in School, developed her interest in singing. She got a lot of prizes in singing competitions at her school and college. With the inspiration of her friends during her college days, she went to Chennai with her father in June 1992. There she got the opportunity of voice recording from Mr. Maragathamani (M.M. Keeravani) for a dubbing movie Aanenna Pennenna from Telugu to Tamil.

Then she worked with Mr. A.R. Rahaman during the late 1990s. Her graduation was completed in 1993. from the Music Academy, she got her diploma in Carnatic Music, Sangeetha Ratna. In 1995 her first lead song was released in the Malayalam movie Pakshe. In the film Ponmanam, her first Tamil song was released in 1997. She also sang with Mr. K. J. Jesudas in a duet song and the music was by Jonson. Again she got the opportunity from Mr. Keeravani in 1999. She got the chance for the first time in a Telugu film Aakasha Veedhilo in which she sang four songs. Later, she sang more than forty songs in Telugu with Mr. Keeravani. This is the reason she considers Mr. Keeravani as her godfather. Ganga was also introduced in the Kannada film Deepavali by Mr. Keeravani.

In four South Indian languages, she has sung more than 250 songs including 100 in Telugu, 50 in Tamil, 30 in Malayalam, and 15 in Kannada also in various devotional albums. For more than one thousand programs she has traveled worldwide with many artists. Also, she got the Best Female Singer award by Tamil Nadu Cinema Kalai Mandram twice, in 2002 for the film Samudram and in 2005 for the film Devathaiyai Kanden. In 2007 she was honored as Gaana Kuyli by Lion Club Golden Cultural Caption. She worked as a singer in Aakasha Veedhilo, Bava Nachadu, Sambha, Aadi, Subbu, Na Autograph, Okariki Okaru Okariki Okaru is a Television show telecasted in t >> Read More... , Narasimhudu, Simhadri, Lakshmi Yogi, etc. (Telugu Movies), Pakshe, Chronic Bachelor, Akale, Mullavalliyum Then Mavum, etc. (Malayalam Movies), and many more films. She married a leading photographer in the film industry Mr. V. Sitarasu.
