Mounika Yadav

Mounika Yadav is a playback singer in the Telugu film industry. She is also referred to as Mamindla Maunika Yadav. She was born on June 20, 1997, in Karimnagar, Telangana. Her hometown is Kanaparthi, Telangana. Her mother, Shyamala, is a homemaker, and her father, Mallya Raitu, is a wage worker. Her elder sister, Padmavati, is a folk singer. Mounika often went with her sister to the singing venues and developed her interest in music. She did her schooling at Kakatiya High School, Godavarikhani, and her graduation from Sathavahana University, Jammikunta. She practised singing when she was in the sixth standard. She trained herself under the guidance of Daya Narsing and Vijayanand. Her career primarily began as a folk singer with "Manukota Patalu," Manukota Prasad's YouTube channel.

Her songs, "Kusunnade on the Bundle," "Bava O Sari Rava," and "Ramula Ramula" gained over fifty million views on that YouTube channel. During the Telangana Movement in 2009, she performed the popular song “Godari Godari Oho Pareti Godari Suttu Neellunna Sukka” in her hometown Kanaparthi which was the origin of the public awareness campaign. Telengana Chief Minister, K Chandrashekhar Rao, gave her a permanent job in "Telengana Samskruthika Sarathi". She took part in various Telangana folk events held at Rabindra Bharati. She has performed in thousands of shows so far. She has also sung and featured in popular Bathukkama songs "Pootha Puulanni Poose" and "Nagire Naga Nandano."
