The movie goes back and forth, projecting flashbacks of what happened to their squad during the war.

Eat Drink Man Woman is a Chinese film released in 1994, directed by Ang Lee. This movie is a comedy-drama movie that shows challenges in family love and tradition. It is one of the Lee's "Father Knows Best" trilogy. The story depicts the relationship between a semi-retired chef father and his three daughters and their situations relating the basic human desires.

He agrees to complete their wish for the Chinese union by marrying an artist who is desperate for a green card. However, the tables turn due to a single wedding banquet.

The Ice storm tells a 1973 Thanksgiving story of two dysfunctional families from New Canaan, Connecticut.
