Welcome / Welcome Back
India’s movie industry is exceedingly diverse. It follows every genre, and the movies produced are of all types for all sorts of audience. We have comedy, drama, tragedy, romance, romantic comedy, serious social issues, politics, and everything else under the sun. At the same time, we also have mindless (often without scripts) movies for those who just want to laugh for a couple of hours, without having to put in too much brains. Accordingly, we have popular actors who are great at their job, and under rated actors who are just as great at their job, if not better.
Today we will be talking about those movies that swept the audience off their feet, irrespective of how they did at the box office or anything else. If they appear on the small screen, it will be closer to the people, and they will be able to relate to it more. The movies mentioned in the list are mentioned here purely because they were so good, that the audience wished they could see more of them. The movies that have already been adapted into daily soaps have not been mentioned.
Like today our parents talk about movies like “Mughal E Azam”, we will talk about this movie some twenty years later, with the same fondness, if not more. Bunny’s freedom and the way Naina breaks her shell and launches herself into the world is worth becoming a classic. And to see that on the small screen, throughout the week, would definitely be a treat.
The story had something incredibly new in it. It has inspired a lot of women to see themselves as individuals, beyond the identity of their husbands. Recently, a woman in Pakistan went on her honeymoon alone, because her husband could not get a visa. Such guts would not have been possible without the movie showing them that it is not a taboo to be alone.
To live in a world that this movie created will be like living in Utopia for the students who work hard, day and night to achieve their parents’ dream. These are the students who have to shove their dream aside and do something that does not make them happy, all for the sake of their parents, who actually only want to see them happy.
Students today are forced to meet a common standard, no matter where their aptitude lies. Under such circumstances, those students who cannot match these are considered stupid, irrespective of how intelligent they actually are. This makes the children feel insufficient and stupid, which is harmful to their growth. This movie strikes just the right chord on how such situations are to be handled.
Shah Rukh Khan Shah Rukh Khan or also known as SRK is a prominent >> Read More... starrer Chak De is all about unity, about bouncing back when life pulls you down and about dedication. These are the qualities that raise a person, and since the movie revolved around hockey, it would also raise the audience’s interested in the national sport. They will perhaps realise that Hockey is just as entertaining as cricket.
With mind blowing dialogues that have stayed with cinema lovers even today and a story that touched the heart of every person who knows and values friendship, there is no reason why the world should not get more of this wonderful movie. Even the idea of it is enough to give goose bumps, and it will make the new generation live the magic that the older kids still swoon over.
Although, Shahid Kapoor Shahid Kapoor also identifies as the name Shahid K >> Read More... and Kareena Kapoor Khan Kareena Kapoor is a super hit actress working in I >> Read More... are no longer together, the magic they created on screen was too wonderful to only last for a few hours. Geet was so unapologetically herself, and that is something the youth of today needs to see, and even the rest of the world. Because there are so many times when we catch ourselves saying sorry, not for what we did, but for who we are; this should not be happening.
Aside from the family values, the ill effects of excessive ego and the wonders that love and dedication can do, this movie also was a genuine dose of drama. Today, the serials on television are purely about family members trying to kill each other, and sometimes turning out to be Ghosts, Spirits or Naagins. If this movie is taken to the small- screen, we will get substantial material for drama that has meaning and logic in it.
This movie is all about Friendship, Freedom and Acceptance. I cannot think of three words that better describe the movie, nor can I think of three things we need more in our life. Every relationship should have these, and in every situation, we need to remember this. And the idea of doing something for yourself, and trusting each other, letting go and just having fun, are some things that would do us genuine good.
Not everyone is born the same. The very essence of this movie was to present the innocence, love, and serenity in the lives of those who are specially-abled. If the serial makers find actors as good as Ranbir Kapoor Ranbir Kapoor is a noted Indian film actor. He was >> Read More... and Priyanka Chopra Born on 18 July 1982, Priyanka Chopra is an establ >> Read More... , this serial is sure to strike a chord with the audience, just like the movie, that almost went to the Oscars.
This is one movie that purely deserves to be on this list. It has entertained various generations, and people have always loved the bindass ‘ Hema Malini Hema Malini is perhaps the only dream girl of the >> Read More... ’, her chemistry with ' Dharmendra Dharmendra Singh Deol was born on 8th December 193 >> Read More... ' and specifically the bond that Jai Veeru shared. The movie has plot, and a storyline that can be expanded to fill in the plot holes and create more content that is sure to woo the audience.
Why must life be taken so seriously? There is a special reason for why this film in on this list. People in our lives die, and it leaves us shattered. But we need to remember that those who have died are in a better place now. They suffered and have left us, now, we need not suffer. The movie ends with Preity Zinta Preity, also known as Preity Zinta is a famous Act >> Read More... fondly remembering her past, but having moved on with Saif Ali Khan Saif Ali Khan is a film celebrity born to actress >> Read More... , meaning that she has found happiness again. This is a theme that would do some good when introduced to Indian television, where the heroines wait for their dead husband/ lover to come back to life.
The movie was innocent, just like its name, despite the theme of infidelity running through the movie. The child was innocent, he had done no wrong, and he deserved to live with his father. Although we are against infidelity, the theme is good enough to be picked up for a daily soap as it would some spice and quality drama to our daily life.
Corruption has polluted our society, and every one of us is suffering due to it. It is a serious issue because of how severely it affects our society and its roots run deeper than we know, so it will take quite a while to eradicate it. At such times, this movie, when turned into a daily soap, will inspire people to laugh at their problems, which in turn will make those problems easier to handle.
We live in a time when rapes are very, very frequent. Shamefully frequent. At such times, this movie offers a good lesson to those who believe that they can walk free after committing such a hideous crime. Moreover, the movie can very well be converted into a daily soap with suspense that keeps the audience at the edge of their seats and some nail-biting court room scenes.
Indian television has very few thrillers and even fewer good ones. Kahaani was such a thrill to watch and its suspense blew away our minds. A woman who has the strength to capitalise on her ability to become pregnant, when pregnancy is said to make a woman weak, is something that our society and our television need right now.
If you tell people today that when this movie released it was declared a flop, they will laugh right at your face and walk away, believing you to be an idiot. The movie is simply epic, what with the chemistry between Aamir Khan Aamir Khan or Mohammed Aamir Hussain Khan is Bolly >> Read More... and Salman Khan Salman Khan is a very famous Indian actor and a pr >> Read More... and their wonderful comic timing. However, the truth is that it was declared a flop initially, but after its DVD was released, people started to appreciate it. Now, something like on Indian television would be a great mood buster and will be refreshing, to say the least.
Every single installment of this franchise has been a hit. Even today, when it is aired on TV channels, entire families sit together to watch it, because of the impeccable comic timing of the actors like Suniel Shetty Suniel Shetty, a renowned Bollywood actor, was bo >> Read More... , Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 and hi >> Read More... and Paresh Rawal The Padma Shri award winner who shot to fame with >> Read More... . The audience can never have enough of this plot and it can never fail with them.
Indian audience has always loved shows that revolve around the love between siblings. A latest example can be the serial Ishqbaaz, where we see a strong bond between the brothers, which is breaking records when it comes to TRPs. Perhaps a multi starrer serial with worthy actors who have it in them to create the magic created by Amitabh Bachchan Amitabh Bachchan was born on October 11, 1942 in A >> Read More... and Hema Malini will do fairly well.
Not every serial on television should only be centered around drama. A little comedy, that does not involve too much thought process and just refreshes people after a long hard day of work with unusual jokes and good comic timing is sure to do well with the Indian audience.
