Bollywood Dancing: An Emerging Style In Itself

We all have heard about various dances like Indian classical styles, hip-hop, jazz, ballet, street dance and much, much more.

But do you know that the Indian film industry has its own dance style, the Bollywood style?

What are the requirements? It needs nothing much. It’s very simple. Thumke, lachke, jhatke and a bindaas mood to dance khulke.

It is a dance suitable for any fun-filled situation. Be it a baaraat, sangeet functions, an immediate and spontaneous celebration of any happiness, or the opportunity to tease someone, the first moves that come to us are the Bollywood steps.

Lately, there have been dance classes which teach Bollywood dancing. A troupe of dancers is present in the background. They just follow one rule that who so ever they meet on the street, just knows what moves they need to do. The dramatic changes in the costumes and locations are typical in Bollywood.

The songs need not be fitting perfectly in the storyline. It can be a character's imagination, a dream sequence, or a situation that is irrelevant to the story line.
