National Film Award For Best Actress

The actress in the leading role for the film gets the National Film Award for Best Actress. Originally, it was known as the Rajat Kamal Award for the Best Actress. However, in 1968, the State Awards for the film started this award, and then it was known as Urvashi Award for the Best Actress. Then, in 1975, its name was changed to Rajat Kamal Award for the Best Actress. Till 1974, the winners were honored with a figurine and certificate, but from 1975 onwards, they were presented with a Silver Lotus known as Rajat Kamal.
