The film Kantatar is about the life of a woman named Sudha. She is an illegal immigrant. She tries to search for her identity. She moves from one man to another. She shifts her religion constantly. One day, the village in which she is residing receives a threat of crossing borders. Army surrounds the area. Everything changes. She takes refuge in a camp. Now, everyone suspects her. She does not have any secure shelter. The borders of India and Bangladesh are shown. The army suspects her as a terrorist.

8. Devaki

The film Devaki shows two parallel lives. Devaki is a young girl living in a village. She is forced to marry an older man of seventy years old. At night, his brother rapes her. The old man is impotent. This shows the physical dominance of men over women. She falls in love with a low-caste boy. One day, they are caught by the local villagers.
