, the “Sherlock Holmes” star is no more. He died at the age of 96 in Ipswich hospital, a couple of days ago. He was suffering from pneumonia. His death news was conveyed by Roger Johnson, the spokesman of the Sherlock Holmes Society of London. Douglas has played a lot of impressive roles, among which the deerstalker in the 60s is very popular. Douglas played the Arthur Conan Doyle’s character in BBC series. Roger Johnson, who confirmed his death said, "He was a great actor, he was a gentleman, he had a long and distinguished career". Douglas made his first appearance as Sherlock Holmes in 1964.
