Sangita Iyer, a bold journalist, has directed a documentary titled, “God In Shackles.” This documentary film was screened on Monday in Kerala. The film is about the elephant business and the truth around it. The film has screwed up the animal lovers and has triggered a war between them and the Temple Festival Committees. The film also shows how the elephants are ill-treated by the mahouts and mercilessly pestered by them. To tame the poor animals, the mahouts beat them and this is their routine practice. Rajamanikyam, the district collector of Kochi and CR Neelakantan, attended the premiere show. Along with them, few more popular personalities attended the show. It is to be noted that Gods In Shackles is Sangita’s first film.
