Yesterday, TN’s Additional DGP Sanjeev Kumar died due to health issues. He belonged to Ranchi and was in the batch of IPS officers in 1986 Batch. He worked in Intelligence Department as DIG, IG and in various leading positions. He had been a sincere cop during his tenure. He had achieved a lot as a DGP, IG and DIG in various sectors of the Police Department. He had been protesting against cancer. Sanjeev had been receiving the treatment from a popular hospital in Chennai. He spent all his savings to cure cancer. His medical expenses exceeded the Medical Policy. Many friends from his batch helped Sanjeev in his treatment but, the funds were not enough. So, Sanjeev had applied for the Special Fund from the CM. Meanwhile, CM “ Jayalalithaa Jayalalithaa Jayaram, more popularly known as Pura >> Read More... ,” was admitted to the hospital and for two months none was there to move the government files and hence Sanjeev didn’t get the fund for his treatment. The Chief Secretary and the Home Secretary were responsible for this when the CM was not in a state to perform his/ her activities. As Sanjeev couldn’t bear the expenses, he was transferred to some other hospital. As cancer developed well, the treatment went in vain. If the funds were permitted at the right time, Sanjeev could have been saved. He has 4 more years to retire. Rest in peace Sir, Sanjeev IPS!
