VG Siddhartha, the Café Coffee Day founder was said to be missing right from Monday evening. He asked his car driver to wait and told him that he would return back after a walk. But, he didn’t return for hours. Following this, a police complaint was made. As Siddhartha had gone missing near the Nethravathi River, the searching operations were on the go under the water. Finally, his body is found in the river, today.
More than 200 people were searching for him. Siddhartha’s driver stated that while getting out of the car, Siddhartha was speaking with someone on his mobile phone. Siddhartha is the son-in-law of former Karnataka CM SM Krishna.
Siddhartha had informed his family that he had been going to Sakleshpur in Hassan. But, he directed his driver to drive to Mangalore. A local fisherman, who saw someone jumping from the bridge, tried to move towards him. But, he had gone deep into the water and as it was heavily raining, he could not reach at the time, said the fisherman. It was a fisherman Ritesh, who found the body when he ventured for fishing. As the police had already alerted them, Ritesh informed the police and the police, who rushed to the place identified him.
