As ADMK clean swiped the election and DMK lost completely, Vijayakanth became the opposition party leader. Even before a year, Vijayakanth had been active in the politics. For the past one year, he is not seen much in the meetings and his wife Premalatha Vijayakath and his brother-in-law Sutheesh are playing the main roles in his absence. The latest announcement from the party is that Vijayakanth will be going to the US on 7th July 2018 for some treatment and the cadres and the admins are requested not to come to the airport for the send-off.
