Dulquer Salmaan is right now focusing on the following projects: "Lucky Baskhar," "1965: Purananooru," and "Kaantha." As such, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he chose to skip “Thug Life” due to a conflict of dates.
‘Thug Life’ will see Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam collaborating after more than 3 decades. This film also had a shot where Kamal introduced himself as Rengaraya Sakthivel Nayakan. This has led to speculations that ‘Thug Life’ may be an extension, or even a tribute to the legacy of ‘Nayakan’, the last collaboration between Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam.
