ISRO’s G SAT-17 satellite was launched with the help of Ariane rocket. It has been perpetuated in the space successfully. To be particular, it is launched into Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit. For the development in telecommunication, G SAT- 17 has been launched from French Guiana. This is one among the heavyweight satellites. As the technology to launch the heavyweight satellites is not available in India, the satellite was launched from French Guiana, an overseas area in France. It is to be noted that the satellite weights 3, 477 Kg and its lifetime is 15 years. This is the 18th telecommunication satellite. The satellite carries the meteorological data relay equipment.
