It seems December turns to be a flooded season for Chennai. In 2015, the city faced a similar situation. Rain lashed the city and reservoirs broke out and swallowed the lives of the people. This year, the Vardah cyclone makes landfall. Strong winds and heavy rainfall affected the normal life of the people. It is expected that at least two people were dead due to the Vardah cyclone. It is also heard that more than 9000 people evacuated the coastal areas and moved to the safety places. On its tour of the Bay of Bengal, the Vardah tries to sweep. The wind speed is calculated as 140kmph. The director general of police has requested the Chennai people not to park their vehicles under the trees as there are possibilities of uprooting of trees.
