Movie Kabali is a directorial venture by director Ranjith. The movie has a lead role done by Rajinikanth. The movie is a production by Thanu. The movie is to hit the screens on July 22nd. Recently, pirated versions of the movies are being released a day prior to movie’s release or the next day.
Director Thanu desired to prevent the release of the movie in websites. So, he approached the Chennai High Court and filed a petition. Thanu has said in his petition ‘Recently, movies are being released in website'. The piracy of new movies hits the cine profession. No proper action is being taken on this regard. My previous movies suffered a big loss due to piracy. I am afraid that Kabali would be released in internet. So, ban should be imposed such that the movie does not release on the net.
The case came into hearing in the presence of magistrate Kirubakaran. The magistrate went into the case and said that websites releasing pirated movies should be frozen. Also, websites which are functioning without proper permission should be frozen. Also, if cable TVs or buses relay the movie, action should be taken, said the magistrate.
