” had been under CBI Custody for the past two weeks. Chidambaram was arrested by the CBI on 21st August 2019. He had been arrested as the CBI feels that he is guilty in the INX Media Case. The main accused Indrani Mukerjea turned out to be an approver. Chidambaram had applied for a bail, but his plea had been rejected by the special CBI judge, Ajaykumar Kuhar.
Today, the court ordered Chidambaram to be under the judicial custody for 14 days and he will be in Tihar Jail. Chidambaram is allotted a special cell, as he has Z Security. The solicitor stated that Chidambaram will have adequate protection in jail. The CBI argued that if PC is sanctioned bail, he would dissolve the evidence.
