It was announced that veteran singer S P Balasubrahmanyam will be honored with Centenary Award for an Indian Film Personality at International Film Festival of India, to be held at Goa. Minister Venkaiah Naidu had announced the award for the singer with a golden voice. In the last two years Maestro Ilayaraja and Superstar Rajinikanth received this award.
S P Balasubrahmanyam was elated by the announcement of the central government. He expressed his gratitude for the entire film fraternity for making him received this award. He also said that he is indebted to all the patrons who listen to his songs and bless him.
Another welcoming initiative by IFFI is the Centenary Award for Best Debut Feature of a Director. This would appreciate the efforts of young talent. Im Kwon Taek, a South Korean director, will be felicitated with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
The festival will take place from November 20 to 28.
