, the popular director cum actor is in the limelight for the past few days. His films are unique and Thangar gives importance to emotions and sentiments. Today is International Mother Language Day. Thangar Bachan asks the people to speak at least some basic words in their mother tongue. Here is his request to the Tamils on International Mother Language Day.
இன்று தாய் மொழி நாள். இது தமிழ் நாடு. நாமெல்லாம் தமிழர்கள் என சொல்லிக்கொள்கிறோம். இன்று ஒரு நாளாவது வேற்று மொழி சொல் கலக்காமல் ஒரே ஒரு நிமிடம் தமிழில் பேசிப்பழகுவோமா? அம்மா,அப்பா,சோறு,தண்ணீர்...! இப்படி இதையாவது தமிழில் சொல்லித்தொலையுங்கள்.

We could not speak our Mother Language without mixing other languages. At least, we should use the basic words in our language because it might help for the existence of the language.
