The buzz of Chennai 28 sequel is occasionally hitting the news headlines past few years and from the director's side also responded to it with "Yes". However nothing has been materialized yet, and "Venkat Prabhu" is busy with previous projects.

Meantime VP in his recent interview revealed that he is in an idea of making Chennai 28 sequel, He said "I'm with an idea of making Chennai 600028 sequel, The team will re-unit and start to commence the project, but it's still in thinking phase. Hoping it will happen soon". He further clarified his association with Gautham Menon has a different script, and it will start progress soon.
