Daggubati family owns Museum of Cinema. It was established in Vishakhapatnam on ‘D Ramanaidu's 79th birth anniversary. It is heard that Rana Daggubati will be spending a part of his salary earned through films to the museum. Rana says, "My grandpa's idea was to create an archive of every movie. But most of the cameras or the equipment that we used have either been sold off or broken. But as we have been in the film industry for the past five decades, we wished to start off by putting together a few things from our own archives. Some of the friends of my grandfather have some cameras and black and white films etc. They donated them to our museum. Our idea is to exhibit what goes in the entire filmmaking process." "I will start a restoration unit that will restore old negatives. Now, everything has gone digital. So, none values negatives of the films. I admit that all this is a highly expensive process. I have decided to spend some amount from my salary for this. We will store our films and find the negatives of others' films, too. Some negatives are in a bad shape that we can't even restore them. Due to the improper maintenance, classic films might disappear soon. I had been watching classics, from my childhood. But, what about the future generation? Now, the project has been initiated, and the plan is to make it as big as we can," added Rana.
