Sarita Catherine Louise Choudhury (born 18 August 1966) is an English actress, best recognized for her performances in the Mira Nair-directed feature films Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love (1996), The Perez Family (1995) and Mississippi Masala (1992). Choudhury hails from Blackheath, London, England, of half Bengali-Indian and half English ancestry. Her father Prabhas Chandra Choudhury, a scientist, and mother Julia Patricia Spring. They married in 1964 in Lucea, Jamaica. She graduated from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, with major in Economics and Films. She has two brothers, Kumar Michael Choudhury, and Chandra Paul Choudhury.
