MORE CAST & CREW
Neighbors 2 is the continuation of the previous film with the same namesake. This version is that of sorority girls having their time of the life.
There is a new group of high school students renting a house next to that of Mac and Kelly Radner (Rogen and Byrne), with an intention of getting high as they like with no restrictions. Mac and Kelly are new parents to a two-year-old child, and the continuous parties and music make their life no easier. Paying the rent of the sorority house is difficult so the girls find an easy way out; throwing parties. What follows next is the faceoff battle of the two houses.
Neighbors 2: Sorority Rising is just a gender-reversal of the previous film. Nothing changes except a pinch of feminism. The movie is the face-off between the sorority girls led by Shelby ( Chloe Grace Moretz) and their neighbors Mac and Kelly Radner(Rogen and Byrne). The only fun sequences are with Teddy Sanders ( Zac Efron), the previous fratboy in that house. The movie is more vulgar, and senseless than the previous one. You will find it as a total rip-off of to the first movie with similar traps and more vulgarity.
Chloe Grace Moretz is the lead portraying Shelby; she is convincing enough as an ambitious sorority girl. Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne are both equally frustrated which gives rise to good humor. Zac Efron is practically the essence of the entire film, he is seen mostly shirtless which adds to the hotness level, but his humor makes it bearable to watch. Selena Gomez is also seen in the film.
The movie is the same battle with girls this time. If you enjoy traps and competition you may like it, but if you watch this movie after the first one, you will have major issues with it. It's a laid-back movie with no major twists. The fight between the neighbors is fun. The familiar star cast is one plus point.
What’s not there?
Neighbors 2 has many shortcomings. A good story is one prime reason. The movie has nothing new to offer. The scenes seem repetitive. The screenplay is okay.
If you enjoy movies with some jokes below the belt and some senseless parties and everything between them you may like the movie. The major problem with the movie is that it does not have anything different or new to tell.
