Plot

The film starts with terrorists Hakim and Bilal. These two are from the Pakistani Fedayeens group (military groups who sacrifice their lives for the sake of religion). They are deceived by a Maulvi (Islamic teacher). He insist them to kill people who are not following Allah’s path. In return for this, they will be welcomed by 72 Hoorains (beautiful virgin women) at the gate of heaven.

Following this, Hakim and Bilal bomb the Gateway of India in Mumbai. They commit this suicide bombing in which two dozen people lose their lives. These two terrorists are also killed. After this, Hakim and Bilal find themselves in a purification state, waiting for their entrance to heaven, where they will meet 72 fairies.

Are they really going to get 72 Hoorains? If not, then why are they kept in this illusion? What will be their fate? Will they have any afterlife? Watch this film to know this.

Star Performance

Pavan Malhotra, who played the role of terrorist Hakim, gave a fantastic performance. Despite being unaware of the anti-national sentiments, he perfectly executed his role. His strong performance adds strength to this film. From anger to sadness, he shows all the emotions in the right proportion.

Amir Bashir, who played the role of terrorist Bilal, looks terrific on screen. He has done a remarkable performance. Rasheed Naz, Saru Maini, and the rest of the cast gave an applaudable performance.

Analysis

The film runs on the lines of The Kerala Story and The Kashmir Files showing the religion jihad. However, it fails to compete with these two films due to its weak narration. After an interesting first half, the film runs very fast. It loses its strength, making the second half less engaging. However, it is a commendable effort by the director in making such a film that portrays the current terrorist activities happening all over the world.

• Weak Narration.

• Film’s second half runs very fast, which makes it unengaging.

Verdict

Film 72 Hoorain is successful in arousing the required sentiments among the viewers regarding the serious issue of terrorism and the manipulation of people in the name of religion. But due to some technical glitches, the film becomes less impressive to the audience. However, if you are searching for a terrorism-related film, then you should definitely watch 72 Horrain.
