CAST & CREW
‘ Aazaan’ is an Indian mystery action film released in 2011 and directed by Prashant Chadha. By this film, entrepreneur-turned-actor Sachiin J. Joshi made his debut into Bollywood. It was one of the most expensive films released in 2011.
The film starts with a suicide bombing in Germany where Indian Home Minister ( Sachin Khedekar) gets affected by an unknown virus. RAW starts investigation into this incident and interrogates an army officer named Azaan Khan, played by Sachin J. Joshi. He interrogates them because of his brother Aman’s involvement in the terrorist activity. Then, he is invited by RAW to work with them and to find his brother. He travels from country to country and finds many culprits. To gain the trust of the terrorists, he also becomes the culprit. He then moves to Pakistan, where he meets a doctor, who tells him to go to Morocco and meet a sand artist called Afreen ( Candice Boucher). She takes care of orphaned girls; their blood can be used to make the antidote. Now, they all come to India with the antidote and face some other problems.
The film had a high budget, but used actors and actress’ who were newcomers. The direction of the film, which was done by Prashant Chadha, is perfectly fine; it has action, romance and lots of emotions. He executes all scenes properly. Some of the scenes are a little confusing, but that does not affect the story much.
Sachin J. Joshi did a good job. He has delivered good action scenes, and looks good in romantic scenes, but lacks in his emotional scenes. As sand artist, Candice Boucher did an alright performance, and she also looked beautiful in the flick, but she needs to work on her acting skills. Ravi Kishan and Aarya Babbar did their characters beautifully.
1. The film has a tightly written screenplay by Shubra Swarup, which always runs a step ahead of the audience's thinking.
2. Great music and background music were given by Salim-Sulaiman.
3. The film looks fresh and has lots of interesting twists & turns.
4. Film has razor-sharp editing by Amitabh Shukla and Humphrey Dixon.
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
1. Sometimes, the film goes too fast, and in some parts, it goes too slow, which is a major problem with it.
2. The film does not have an effective star cast.
Film has almost every ingredient of an entertaining thriller film, therefore it is recommended to watch at least once if you love watching thriller.
