CAST & CREW
Plot: Akhil ( Akshay Kumar) who works as an extra and keeps getting refused to get paid finds out that he is the heir of 3000 crore rupees as he and his mother were left to fend for themselves by his father (Panna Laal Johari), who had a diamond business and who is now dead. However, his life goes for a turn when he learns that the Empire goes to entertainment (a dog). So what will Akhil do now? How will he acquire the much-needed money he needs, to get out of a life which is full of hard work?
Analysis: I personally love dogs. So I thought, what is not to love about a movie that centers around a dog that too, named entertainment. Dog and some entertainment is good. But tacky jokes, horrible execution, situations that are apparently funny, is what given to us. The whole romance track and the dad not allowing his daughter to marry a poor guy are as cliched as a storyline can get. Add to it a very horrible soundtrack. The film is filled with corny, cringeworthy dialogues. The whole movie cuts from one scene to other, without bothering about something called story, is just something extra which they do not care about.
Star Performance: Akshay Kumar is present in each and every scene and acts average, with script and dialogues like that, there is only so much, one can expect. Tamannaah fits her role perfectly and shows her acting skills. But who steals the show is the golden retriever, now if only he was given more scenes!
What Is There?
1. A cheesy plot, which can get some laughs out of you.
2. Although the movie doesn’t make proper use of the dog, he is the hero of the movie. He is perfect and adorable, and you keep looking for him throughout the movie
What Is Not There?
1. A sensible plotline, the plot doesn’t make sense in many instances.
2. The editing could have been done better.
Verdict: A movie that can be watched by dog lovers, a feel good movie, which keeps you smiling, if you dive into the movie without any sense of logic.
