Trying to get a cult going is this mind boggling movie, MSG: The Mess enger, showcasing the multi faceted Guruji - Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Jig Insan. This movie definitely makes new mark as a spiritual leader makes his debut in Bollywood.

PLOT:

There is just one man who steals the limelight throughout the movie, Gurmet Ram Rahim Singh.

The multi-talented guruji is a social reformer, miracle worker, champion footballer, patriot, rapper, farishtha besides being a pitaji to everyone. Guruji’s main motive is to free society from drugs and other social evils. This obviously doesn’t amuse the bad guys ,thus putting the guruji’s life in danger.

The overall plot is on how Guruji tackles his death with the help of his fan girl crew while continuing to do his good deeds.

STAR PERFORMANCES

The star performer is Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh himself  shining all the way through with his multi talented and influential personality with his ever growing popularity.

ANALYSIS:

The positive aspects of the movie are the messages given throughout the movie. The super unreal onscreen antics and effects are a major put off. The movie could have been way more effective and impactful if they had paid attention to spreading awareness in bringing about change. There was no possible prior thinking to whom or what audience they were aiming for. All the senseless glorification of guruji takes centre stages completely shadowing every other aspect. The movie some what seems quite pointless unless you want to treat it as a joke. Nevertheless it has created a sensation owing to controversies it entailed.

WHAT’S THERE?

  • Messages throughout the movie for the betterment of society.
  • Though   it isn’t  a challenging one, Gurmeet Ram Rahim has done justice to his role (duh!). Daniel Kaleb Bio coming soon... >> Read More... , Florra Saini, Jayashree Soni perform well in their respective roles.

WHAT’S NOT THERE?

  • The movie lacks that essence of a polished good cinematography.
  • Poor direction
  • Onscreen antics and CGI effects are not up to the mark.

VERDICT:

Definitely a must watch ....for Guruji’s followers of course!

If you’re a spiritual person and have the power of patience to tolerate three hours and seventeen minutes of tasteless display of a whole lot of narcissism, poor cinematography with certain technical glitches as a plus point, this movie is highly recommended to you. This movie can be considered as some satirical comedy depending obviously on your sense of humour.  Well, maybe there was a time when the ultimate motive of the movie was to do some social good but that’s lost under layers and layers of Gurmeet Rahim Singh’s fantasy.

The movie is a true mind teaser!
