Plot

Vidhan is a poor student who lives with his mother. Both earn their living by making and selling handicrafts, even as Vidhan pursues his higher studies. His genial attitude attracts Vidhi towards him. However, Vidhan's mother is hesitant towards the relationship, for in her eyes, relations must be with equals.

Star Performances

Mukesh Khanna's cameo might be the only memorable thing about the forgettable movie.

Analysis

Poor boy falls for a rich girl. Doesn't this remind you of something? Of course, it does. This is practically the basic plotline for every 3rd Indian movie released in the theaters annually. If only 'Pyara Kulhad' was as refreshing as it claimed in the trailer.

Yes, there is nothing much to expect from the plot, so maybe the makers had an innovative approach. No, that is also missing. So, what is there in this movie worth remembering? To be truthful, absolutely nothing.

To begin with, what are seasoned stalwarts like Mukesh Khanna and Gulshan Grover doing here? Like the actors mentioned above, there were many sequences in the film that looked out of place. The screenplay by MK Singh is not only cliched but predictable to the core. For the editing, the less said, the better.

The cinematography by RM Swami is just passable. Despite having multiple lyricists, none of the songs are worth remembering. Even the chemistry between the two lead actors is missing, as if they had no idea about the next scene. The director tries too hard but ends up achieving nothing. If the makers intended to serve a simple, feel-good love story, they did not succeed at it either. The only good things about this movie are the cameo from Mukesh Khanna and the ending. With such a dull approach, who would even sit through the screen time of 2 hours and 28 minutes?
