Gowdru Hotel is the official remake of the super hit Malayalam film, Ustad Hotel featuring Dulquer Salmaan in the lead role. Gowdru Hotel is the romantic drama movie scripted and directed by Pon Kumaran. Ramesh Shiva, Satish Reddy and Sathyan bankrolled the project under Eminent Movie Makers banner. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music composer. Prakash Raj, “ Vedhika,” Rachan Chandra and Archana Singh are in the star cast.

Rishi, who has four sisters, longs to become a chef, but his father, being a rich businessman, doesn’t want him to become a chef. Rishi, who stays with his grandpa, comes to know about the love for food, pursues his studies in cooking instead of Hotel Management without his father’s knowledge. Rishi gets a good job, abroad. What happens when his father comes to know about this? Did he allow his son pursue his career? Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Rachan has done a decent role but couldn’t match the performance of Prakash Raj. Vedhika has given a neat performance.

Although it is a Malayalam remake, the film has been shot with Kannada sensibilities. Prakash Raj is apt for the role. Although he has done a great job, the chemistry between him and Rachan is not pleasing. The Malayalam movie was a hit only with the chemistry between the grandfather and the grandson.

What’s There?

  • The script and the screenplay is good
  • Performance of Prakash Raj is impressive
  • Importance of the relationship and food is neatly shown

What’s Not There?

  • Yuvan’s music didn’t create any impact
  • The film didn’t match the original

Although it has some flaws, the film won’t disappoint the audiences; especially the part done by Prakash Raj. So, try the movie, once!
