Plot

The film revolves around a small-town real estate broker, who is making losses of late. While trying his way out, he stumbles upon an easy solution, that might change his life. However, is it for the better or the worse?

Star Performances

The ensemble cast has done justice to whatever the script offered. Irrespective of the flaws, they have uplifted this film by several notches.

Analysis

There is a saying, ‘First impression is the last impression’. However, ‘Faction Leni Seemakatha’ and its makers think otherwise. This is one film that doesn’t offer much at an initial glance. However, the more you explore, the more you will be surprised.

The film focuses on two aspiring brokers, who think of an easy way out, ignorant of what is coming next. One of the very few flaws is the not-so-impressive editing. Despite the best efforts of the ensemble cast, the film looks a bit overstretched, and at times, sluggish.

However, if you’re ready to ignore that, the film is raw, rustic, and above all, offers something different. The writers have done a good job with the basics, creating the right amount of thrill for a film of this scale. This film is nowhere near the recently released ‘Gaami’ in terms of the thrill. However, the plot elements are more than just satisfactory. The plot picks up pace in the second half, making it a well-made thriller.

The visuals of this film are also surprisingly good. Anil Mallela [who has also co-written the script] has proven that he can multitask without sweat. It is his hand at the camera, that makes this film visually endearing.

The ensemble cast has been equally good in terms of acting, ensuring that the film is anything but boring. The two actors who have played the role of amateurish brokers are both authentic and endearing in terms of their performances.

Verdict

‘Faction Leni Seemakatha’ is one of those rare ‘indie films’ that pack a punch, both in terms of performances, as well as content. The editing is not very outstanding, but the visuals, as well as the acting performances, more than make up for it. If you are looking for something unconventional this weekend, go for this film!
