Oka Raju Oka Rani is telecast on Zee Telugu and is the dubbed version of the Hindi serial Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani. The genre of the serial is romance and mystery. This series is produced by Sunjoy Waddwa and Comali Sunjoy Waddgwa under Sphere Origins which have produced Chinnari Pelikuthuru, Saraswatichandra and many more successful serials.
This serial is about the love story of a Raja and the daughter of a commoner in 1945. Once there was a royal family of Ameerkot which is indebted to a money lenders Govind das. Govind Das has a daughter named Gayatri who is very beautiful and fond of books. Gayatri is attracted to Rana Indravadhan singh, the king who has returned after a war. Rajamata, mother of Indravadhan keeps a deal with Govind Das by compensating the debt with the marriage of Gayatri and Indravadhan. Indravadhan doesn't like this marriage as he cannot forget his first wife, who is dead.
The story is about how Gayatri wins the heart of Indravadhan, how life has changed to her from a common girl to a queen and how did she face the situations in Ameerkot.
