George Lopez

American stand-up comedy actor and a famous host George Lopez was born on April 23, 1961, in Mission Hills, Los Angeles, California, USA. His parents were Frieda and Anatasio Lopez. His father deserted Lopez when he was two months, and his mother left him when he was ten years old. Later, George's grandparents raised him. He graduated in 1979 from San Fernando High School.

George Lopez is not so lucky enough to enjoy a peaceful and smooth running career. Now and then, he greeted by the difficulties. As people started criticizing for not having Hispanic-oriented sitcoms, ABC quickly took it seriously and aired 'George Lopez'. George Lopez is the American sitcom, which aired on ABC from 2002 to 2007. George Lopez is the writer, producer, and co-creator of the sitcom.

George Lopez has also worked for the sports show Inside The NFL as the cast member and commentator for HBO. It is one of the hit shows that telecasts on HBO. In 2008, he gave a guest appearance in season five of 'Reno 911!' as the Mayor of Reno, Nevada.

In 2013, he started his sitcom on FX called 'Saint George'. From March 30, 2016, Lopez's autobiographical single camera sitcom started airing on TV Land called 'Lopez'.

Apart from sitcoms, stand-up comedy, George Lopez can also be seen in some movies like 'Real Women Have Curves', 'Naughty or Nice', etc. 'Brown is The New Green: George Lopez and the American Dream' is his documentary.

George Lopez wrote his autobiography named Why You Crying, which is one of the best sellers. He got Imagen Vision Award 2003. He won the Latino Spirit Award for his Excellence in Television too. He also won the National Hispanic Media Coalition Impact Award for his contribution to the sitcoms. Time Magazine listed George Lopez in the list of Top 25 Hispanics in America in 2005. He also hosted Grammy awards for two times and co-hosted for Emmy Awards. He is an all rounder in a way.

George Lopez is a good fundraiser too. He raised funds when there was an earthquake in El Salvador and Guatemala. For the fundraising, he was named as the Honorary Mayor of Los Angeles.

George Lopez married Ann Serrano in 1993 and divorced in 2011. They have a child Maya.
