Nishat is an Indian filmmaker. She studied psychology at the University of Austin. She also worked in Tech Company and as an independent consultant and later switched to Mumbai to pursue filmmaking. She says at age 12, she was gifted a camera by her father, and she was passionate about filmmaking; therefore, when she had a choice to move to Los Angles or Mumbai for filmmaking. She chose Mumbai in 2010. She made a film named ‘Ek Call’ the movie was about a young groom having second thoughts a marriage. The film was selected by the Festival de Cannes for the 2013 short film Corner premier.
