Subedar Amit Panghal is a Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) and an Amateur Boxer, working in the Indian Army. He won the silver medal under the flyweight category at the AIBA World Boxing Championship in 2019. Panghal won the gold medal at the 2018 Asian Games. Amit Panghal won the top spot in the 52kg category. Amit Panghal is the Asian Games champion and a silver medalist at the World Championship. The Asian Elite Boxing Champion Panghal finished second in Dubai after winning the gold medal in 2019 against world champion Shahobidin Zoilov from Uzbekistan.

Amit Panghal was born on October 16, 1995, in the village, Mayna in the Rohtak district of Haryana. His father, Vijender Singh Panghal, is a farmer in Mayna, and his brother, Ajay Panghal, works in the Indian Army. Ajay was a former boxer who influenced Amit to participate in the Sir Chhoturam Boxing Academy in 2007. Panghal won the gold medal in his first appearance at the 2017 National Boxing Championships. He won the Bronze medal under the Light Flyweight category at the Asian Amateur Boxing Championship 2017 in Tashkent in May 2017. He competed in the AIBA World Boxing Championship 2017and lost to Hasanboy Dusmatov from Uzbekistan in the quarterfinals. In February 2018, Panghal won the gold medal at the Strandzha Cup in Sofia.

He won the silver medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games under the Light Flyweight category. In April 2019, he won the gold medal at the Asian Boxing Championship. In February 2019, Amit Panghal managed to defend the trophy by winning consecutive gold medals at the Strandzha Cup in Sofia (2018, 2019).

On September 21, 2019, he became the first Indian boxer to win a silver medal at the AIBA World Boxing Championships 2019. In March 2020, Panghal was qualified for the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo after defeating Carlo Paalam in the Philippines in a 52 kg quarterfinal. In December, Panghal won the gold medal at the 2020 World Boxing Cup in Cologne, Germany. Panghal won the bronze medal under the 52kg category at the Governor's Cup 2021 in St. Petersburg, Russia.
