Suman Kumar was born in Madras but he grew up in a small town Chittoor, Andhra Pradesh. He did his basic schooling in a convent called Little Flower. His family wanted him to become an engineer, but he was more into arts. Since childhood, he has been enthusiastic about writing. While shopping, he would make sure to be gentle with the wrapping paper of magazines, so that he could read the content later. During childhood, he had a passion for listening to and narrating fantasy stories, and he used to make stories about epic battles and ants. Throughout his college career, he wrote three novels but could not publish them. Later on, he switched to the IT industry, and apparently, he regained consciousness of his passion for writing, and he started writing blogs, most of which were about his own life and hobbies. He started working in the IT sector as a full-time employee but soon resigned.

He soon moved to Kolkata and started writing novels. His spouse, Dr. Chitra, always supported him when he was struggling. Within no time, one of Suman Kumar’s notable blogs caught the attention of D.K., and he invited Suman Kumar to join Raj & D.K.’s writing team. Alongside writing novels, he started working with them. Eventually, the publication of Ranga Half-Pants helped him gain recognition. He debuted as a screenwriter in 2015 with a horror anthology Darr Sabko Lagta Hai. He has worked in Tamil movies like Mandela and Aelay. Furthermore, his other notable works include Netflix series like Guns & Gulaabs as well as Shahid Kapoor’s Farzi.
