S R Prabhu

S. R. Prabhu, a Tamil and Telugu Film Producer, was born on 06th February 1980 in a small village of Sundakkampalayam in Tamil Nadu. He has produced 24 movies and has distributed 26 movies till now. Till 2019 he has given 13 years to the Tamil and Telugu Film Industry. He presently resides in Chennai, Tamil Nadu with his wife, Deepthi Muthusamy. S. R. Prabhu is an acquaintance of the veteran actor Sivakumar and cousin of actors Suriya and Karthi. He started his career in association with the Studio Green, an Indian film Production and Distribution Company, which was started in 2006 with the Tamil movie Sillunu Oru Kaadhal. The company has produced many films, including Singam, Siruthai, Alex Pandian, and Pizza II: Villa. He worked for Studio Green for eight years ranging from 2006 to 2013. During this time, the Studio produced these movies Naan Mahaan Alla, All in All: Azhagu Raja, Attakathi, Biriyani, Madras, and Komban.

He started his own production company, “Dream Warrior Pictures” in 2010 with his brother SR Prakash Babu, which made its debut on the big screen with Saguni, starring Karthi and directed by Shankar Dayal. His next venture under the banner of Dream Warrior Pictures was “Joker,” which was one of his most successful movies. Joker bagged ten awards in total, out of which two were in the 64th National Film Festival and one at Norway Film Festival 2017. The movie is based on the need to build toilets in rural homes. After the grand success of Joker, the team made another wonder, Aruvi, an eco-social drama that made its International Premiere at the Shanghai International Film Festival in Shanghai, China in 2016. Aruvi won four awards at the Ananda Vikatan Cinema Awards 2018. The company also produced hit films like Kaashmora, Kootathil Oruthan, Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, The Sunshine, NGK, Raatchasi, Kaithi, Sulthan and Vattam under its banner.

Prabhu also joined the production company “Potential Studios,” as a partner. Under Potential Studios, his debut movie was Maya starring Aari and Nayantara. This movie bagged many awards for Nayantara in various events. The same movie was dubbed and released in Telugu as “Mayuri.” After Mayuri, the Studios produced Maanagaram, starring Sundeep Kishan and Regina Cassandra. Monster is the third and the latest movie under this production house, directed by Nelson Venkatesan and starring, S. J.Suryah, Priya Bhavani Shankar, and Karunakaran. On 2nd April 2017, S. R. Prabhu was elected as the Treasurer of the Tamil Film Producers Council.
