Yes, we’re talking about ‘ Maidaan Click to look into! >> Read More... ’ and ‘ Bade Miyan Chote Miyan Click to look into! >> Read More... ’. Both films clashed on the occasion of Eid ul Fitr. Both films were big ticket releases, and both promised to carry the momentum forward for Bollywood.

However, despite the extended weekend, none of the two have even crossed 50 crores. ‘Maidaan’ has barely managed to earn 10 crores, including the revenue from the paid previews. Some people can attribute it to its consistent delays, and the subsequent loss of interest in the same.

However, for ‘Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’, nothing could have gone wrong. The two actors did their best to promote this action drama. Despite the shoddy marketing, the PR was super strong. Even in terms of screen count, and the ticket pricing, ‘BMCM’ had a huge edge.

Having said that, the makers forgot that mediocrity cannot be a substitute for good cinema. In two days, ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’ could only manage 23 crores from domestic net collections. This is way lower than even ‘Fighter’ and ‘Shaitaan’.
